Oasi la Piantata di Via Marconi Modena

A preserved slice of nature reflecting the rural landscape of the Modenese countryside from the last century, nestled in the heart of the city. Now open for guided tours, this unique spot is safeguarded through a partnership between the Municipality of Modena and the GEV.

The Rodari Urban Forest exemplifies the spontaneous regeneration of nature within the city. Unlike gardens with geometric flowerbeds and manicured lawns, this space allows vegetation to grow freely, forming a small wild yet inviting ecosystem—like a woodland that has naturally reclaimed urban territory.
La Pica Mirandola Botanical Garden

Nestled in the San Biagio countryside, across a sprawling 21,000-square-meter expanse that stretches through the municipalities of Mirandola, San Felice, and Medolla in Modena, lies a vibrant botanical garden. This lush haven showcases a rich variety of herbaceous plants, shrubs, and trees, thoughtfully curated to thrive in the local environment.
Through a partnership with ImpattoZero® and IBM®, students from schools in Modena had the unique chance to explore what the local environment looked like a century ago. Additionally, they participated in planting native species provided by IBM at Oasi La Piantata and the La Pica Botanical Garden.
