Tenorio

Parque Nacional Volcán Tenorio

Nestled within Tenorio Volcano National Park, part of the Arenal–Tempisque conservation area, Rio Celeste is celebrated for its breathtakingly vibrant blue waters. This remarkable hue is attributed to a significant concentration of aluminum silicates found in the river. As the legend goes, after creating the sky, God cleaned His paintbrush in the waters of the Rio Celeste, giving it its distinctive color.

Foreste per Sempre ODV has been instrumental in securing an adjacent region of the Parque Nacional Volcán Tenorio. This area, which was once a habitat for tapirs frequently hunted by poachers, has now become an integral part of the park. With the dedicated oversight of the local organization Fundaca, the protection of tapirs in this region has been greatly improved, ensuring a safer environment for these animals.
